Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran, born March 10, 1949, is an American businesswoman and investor. She is also a public speaker and consultant, a speaker, columnist syndicated as an author, author, and television presenter. In 2001, she founded The Corcoran Group in New York City. She sold the brokerage to NRT for $66 millions. In the following months, she exited from the business. Corcoran is one of ABC’s initial Shark Tank investors. Since her inception she has appeared on every 12 seasons of Shark Tank. Corcoran has signed 53 deals as of February 2020. Her largest deal was her investment of $350,000 into Coverplay for 40%. Corcoran was second of a family of 10 kids and was raised in Edgewater. Florence Corcoran's mother was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father was a skilled worker throughout the years of Corcoran's childhood. Her family sometimes depended on food delivery for free from a nearby grocery store. Corcoran states her father was drunk who did her mother a disservice and condescension. Corcoran struggled through her schooling and was eventually diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran began the high school system at St. Cecilia High School Englewood, after she left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran, who had failed several courses in her freshman year, transferred to Leonia High School. There she was awarded a D.
