Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara OOC (born on March 4 1954), is a Canadian-American actor and comedian. O'Hara has won a number of awards, including the Genie Award, a Golden Globe Award and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. She also received two Primetime Emmy Awards and six Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018, she was made an Officer of Canada. In 2020, she was presented with the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement award. O'Hara was first noticed as an actress while she was a part of The Second City improv comedy troupe in Toronto in 1974. Together with John Candy (1975-1978), she was part of the primary casting in the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). In the next year, O'Hara and Candy began work on the sketch comedy show Second City Television (1976-1984), where she drew praise from critics for her work as a comedic actress as well as a writer, securing an Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for the Variety Series in 1981. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the brand-new Second City artistic advisory board led by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
