Kyra Minturn
KyraMinturn, born 19th August 1965, is an American actress. Her most well-known role is her character as the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick earned a Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson and also an Emmy Award 2010 for her performance. The seventh season of the series concluded on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick's role as Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also noteworthy. Sedgwick was nominated for an Golden Globe award in 1995 for her performance in Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's film appearances include Oliver Stone's Born On the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) and What's cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The actress also appeared in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick is the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald, an educator, family therapist, venture capitalist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick VII Speech therapist. Her mother was Jewish and her father was an Episcopalian and of English descent. Sedgwick has publicly declared her Jewish roots and stated that she takes part in Passover seders.
